How do I create an UpToDate personal login for mobile and off-campus access?
Answer
UpToDate allows FSU College of Medicine students, residents, full-time faculty, and clerkship directors access from up to two mobile devices (i.e. one tablet and one smartphone) using a personal UpToDate account. Personal logins can also be used to access uptodate.com directly from any web browser.
To create a personal UpToDate account:
1. Go to the Maguire Medical Library's UpToDate Portal. Log in through the UpToDate portal with your CoM username and password.
2. Once you are logged in to UpToDate, click on the "Register" button in the top right corner.
3. Create and register a username/password on the UpToDate site using the Registration form.
Note: Once registered, you will be able to access UpToDate directly using your personal UpToDate login via any web browser or the mobile app.
4. After you’ve registered, you will receive an email confirmation from UpToDate that also provides instructions for downloading the UpToDate mobile app.
Installing the mobile app:
1. Follow the instructions in the registration confirmation email to download the UpToDate app to your mobile device(s).
2. Once downloaded, open the app and sign in with your UpToDate username/password.
3. The UpToDate mobile app can now be used anywhere there is an internet connection.
Note: The mobile app requires users to re-verify their affiliation with FSU every 90 days.
